Organizing your feeds
Blocklists
Hide articles containing words you never want to see — across every feed, automatically.
Updated
A blocklist is a list of words or phrases you never want in your timeline. Any article whose text matches a blocked word is hidden automatically, everywhere — across all your feeds, folders, and smart groups.
Use it to mute a topic you’re tired of, spoilers for a show, a sports team’s score, or a name that keeps flooding your feeds.
How it differs from tags
- A tag set to Excluded hides matching articles within a specific filter or smart group.
- A blocklist word hides matching articles globally, no matter where they’d appear.
Reach for a blocklist when you want something gone entirely; reach for an Excluded tag when you only want it out of one particular view.
How blocking works
- Blocking is applied to every article as it arrives, and to articles imported through iCloud sync — so blocked content stays hidden on all your devices.
- Blocking is reversible. Remove a word from the blocklist and matching articles return to your timeline.
Managing your blocklist
Add or remove blocked words from Manage Tags / the blocklist section in Settings. Your blocklist syncs across your devices through iCloud.
