Writing drafts
Copy, open, and post
Copy a draft, jump straight to the site you post on, open every site at once, or copy every draft together.
Updated
Postout doesn’t post for you. It gets the text onto your clipboard and gets you to the right place, and you do the last step. That’s deliberate: it keeps you in control of what goes out under your name.
Copy
Every draft card has a Copy button next to its … menu. Tap it and the button briefly changes to Copied to confirm.
Copy and Open
Copy and Open copies the draft and opens that platform’s website in one step. Find it in the card’s … menu or its context menu (right-click on Mac, touch and hold on iPhone and iPad).
To make a single tap do both every time, turn on Settings → General → Links → Auto-Open After Copy. With it on, the Copy button also opens the site.
Copy and Open uses the Website set for each platform. The built-in templates already have one. For a custom platform, add a website in its settings. See Platforms and templates.
Open all
The Open all button in the toolbar opens the website for every platform that has a draft, each in its own tab or window. Then work down the list: copy a draft in Postout, paste it in the matching tab, and move to the next.
Copy all posts (Mac)
On Mac, choose Post → Copy All Posts (⇧⌘C) to copy every draft in the open post at once, separated by dividers. Handy for pasting everything into a notes app or sending to someone for review.
On Apple Watch
The watch can’t copy to the clipboard or open websites. Use Share in a draft’s options to send it through Messages or AirDrop instead. See Apple Watch.
