Writing drafts
Using links in a prompt
Paste a link into your idea and Postout reads the page first, so the draft can talk about what it actually says.
Updated
Sharing a blog post, a video, a product page, or an article? Paste the link right into the compose bar with your idea:
I wrote up how I rebuilt my sync engine https://example.com/blog/sync
Before drafting, Postout opens the linked page, pulls its title, description, and opening text, and gives that to the AI along with your idea. While it does, the compose bar reads Reading linked page…. The draft can then speak to what the page actually says instead of guessing from the URL.
Good to know
- Up to three links per prompt are read. Any beyond that are left in the text but not fetched.
- Only public web pages work. Pages behind a sign-in, paywalls, and files that aren’t web pages are skipped.
- If a page can’t be read, Postout drafts anyway, using just your idea and the URL.
- Rerolling the same draft reuses the page it already read, so it’s quick.
Privacy
The page is fetched by your device, directly from the site. Its text is then sent to the AI provider you picked, along with your idea. If you use Apple Intelligence, it stays on your device. Nothing passes through Xetabit. See Privacy.
