Your personality profile

Your personality profile is a short written description of how you write online. Postout includes it with every draft request, so it’s the main thing that makes drafts sound like you rather than like a generic AI.

Find it in Settings → Personality.

Taking the questionnaire

Tap Get Started (or Take the Questionnaire during setup). You’ll answer ten multiple-choice questions, including:

• How you usually talk to people online
• What role humor plays in your posts
• How you want people to see you
• How you open a post
• How you handle disagreement
• How you feel about hashtags and sharing personal experiences

Pick the answer closest to you and Postout moves to the next question. Not sure? Tap Skip this question. Changed your mind? Tap Back.

When you finish, your AI provider turns your answers into a few sentences describing your posting personality. Read it, then tap Save Profile, or Retake to start over.

The questionnaire uses your selected AI provider to write the summary, so set one up first. If it can’t reach the provider, you’ll see Couldn’t create your profile with a Try Again button.

Editing your profile by hand

The generated profile is a starting point. Tap Edit in Settings → Personality to rewrite it in your own words. Be specific. Things that help:

• Words or phrases you use a lot, or never use
• How long your posts usually are
• Whether you write in lowercase, use exclamation points, or swear
• What you post about most

To start from scratch, tap Retake.

Post settings

Below your profile are four switches that apply to every draft where they make sense:

Setting	What it does
Use Emojis	Adds relevant emojis to posts.
Use Proper Grammar	Standard capitalization and punctuation (“This is a sentence” vs “this is a sentence”).
Use Acronyms	Allows chat shorthand like lol, idk, and btw.
Include Hashtags	Adds relevant hashtags.

Your profile and these settings sync to your other devices through iCloud.
