Shortcuts, Siri, Spotlight, and widgets

Draft a post by voice, open your latest draft, find drafts in Spotlight, and start a new post from your Home Screen.

Updated

Postout plugs into the system so you can draft without opening the app first.

Siri

Say any of these to draft a post:

  • “Draft a post in Postout”
  • “Make a post with Postout”
  • “Create a post in Postout”
  • “Write a post with Postout”

Siri asks what the post should be about, then Postout drafts it in the background with your default provider and enabled platforms. The result is saved to History and shown with an Open in Postout button.

To jump back to something you wrote, say “Open my Postout draft” or “Open a draft in Postout.”

Shortcuts

Postout adds two actions to the Shortcuts app:

  • Generate a Post takes a topic or idea, drafts it, saves it to History, and passes the new draft on to the next action. Feed it from Dictate Text or another action to build your own flow.
  • Open Draft opens a specific saved draft.

Spotlight

Drafts are added to Spotlight on your device. Search for a few words from a draft, even what it said rather than its title, and open it straight from the results. Deleted drafts are removed from Spotlight automatically.

Widgets

Add the Drafts widget from the widget gallery to see your latest drafts at a glance. Tap a draft to open it, or tap + to start a new post with the compose bar ready to type.

If Siri says something went wrong

  • “Set up an AI provider in Postout’s settings first.” Add one in Settings → Models.
  • “Enable at least one platform in Postout first.” Turn one on in Settings → Social Platforms.
  • “Your free week of Postout has ended.” See Pricing and unlocking.
