Resetting Postout
The difference between Reset All Settings and Factory Reset, what each one erases, and what's always kept.
Updated
Postout has two reset options, both in Settings → General → Data. Both erase data on every device signed in to your iCloud account, and neither can be undone.
Reset All Settings
Use this to start over with your content and defaults.
- Deletes every draft, topic, tone tag, and platform
- Restores the default topics, tone tags, and a few starter platforms
- Clears your personality profile
- Restores the General and Personality settings to their defaults
Factory Reset
Choose Delete all content for a full clean slate. It does everything above, plus:
- Clears every remaining preference
- Removes your drafts from Spotlight
- Shows the welcome flow again on next launch, as if Postout were freshly installed
What’s always kept
Neither reset touches your AI providers and API keys, so you won’t need to set them up again. Your unlock is also unaffected, since it belongs to your Apple Account.
Deleting just some drafts
To clear out History without resetting anything else, select the drafts you want to remove and delete them. See History, search, and filters.
Removing Postout completely
Delete the app from each device. Your drafts will remain in your private iCloud storage until you remove them, which you can do with a Factory Reset before deleting the app, or from your device’s iCloud storage settings.
