History, search, and filters
Find any past draft, filter by platform, topic, or tone, sort the list, and delete drafts in bulk.
Updated
Every draft you create is saved to History, the list in the middle column (or the main list on iPhone). Select a draft to open it, edit it, copy it again, or reroll it.
Search
Use the search field above the list. It matches your original idea, the draft’s short title, its topic, and its tone tags.
To search the drafted text itself, use Spotlight. Postout adds your drafts to the on-device index, so you can find them from system search by what they say. See Shortcuts, Siri, Spotlight, and widgets.
Filters and sorting
The Options menu above the list filters History by:
- Platform: drafts that include a specific platform
- Topic: a single topic, or No Topic
- Tone: one or more tone tags
It also sorts the list: Date (Newest), Date (Oldest), or Title (A-Z). Set a default in Settings → General → Sorting → History.
Selecting a platform card or topic in the sidebar applies the same filters.
Shorter titles
Rows in History show your original idea. For long prompts, turn on Settings → General → Summarize Post Titles and your AI provider writes a short title for each draft, including ones you’ve already made.
Selecting several drafts
- iPhone: tap Select in the navigation bar.
- iPad and Vision Pro: choose Select from the Options menu.
- Mac: ⌘-click or ⇧-click rows.
Then use Select all if you like, and Delete in the bottom bar. Postout confirms before deleting more than one draft, since it can’t be undone.
Deleting one draft
Swipe left on a row, use the row’s context menu, or press Delete on Mac with the row selected.
